La Loka Designs

My Vietnamese Grandfather was a prolific artist who signed all his artwork with the name Loka. His last name was La (In Vietnam, the last name often precedes the first). His wife, my Grandmother, was a devout Buddhist who I mostly remember as being beatific, quiet and meditative no matter was going on. Their creative and spiritual presence left an indelible impact on me that I will honor forever. When deciding on a name for my jewelry company, there was no other name I could use but La Loka.

Connectedly, Loka is a Sanskrit word meaning world. By no coincidence, throughout my life I have felt callings to travel and experience a variety of exotic and eclectic cultures. Whenever I have had the opportunities, I traveled to where my heart led me: throughout Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America, Africa and the United States. Along the way, I collected diverse inspirations and learning experiences.

I am driven to create jewelry that is meaningful and transcendant; this includes composing pieces with gemstones, metals and symbolic designs. My passion for creating jewelry continues to expand with every journey - I intend to always evolve. It is my mission to handcraft eye-catching, quality jewelry that is inspiring and transformative.
